"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, presence automatically liberates others."

True!  When you consume high-calorie, high-fat foods, the survival mechanism in your brain tells your body to keep eating more! This is because your body was designed to live in a time when there was a constant shortage of food and people were active all the time (think back thousands and thousands of years ago). So when someone brought a buffalo home to the family cave and everyone sat down to eat it, their brains would tell them to keep going, no matter how hungry! Their brains wanted to consume as much energy as possible to store some away for times of shortage.
Our situation has evolved, but our bodies have not. We’re no longer living in this constant state of not having enough to eat, so we no longer need to store all of that excess fat and energy. But the thing is, our bodies don’t know that. Our bodies still want to keep us safe and prepare us for times when there isn’t enough food.
That’s exactly why, when you’re eating a bag of chips or a pizza or chocolate or ice cream, even if you’re not hungry, you feel the urge to keep eating.
